Cape & Plymouth Business Media 40 Under 40
Brian McCowan, Vice President at NESB, was recently awarded Cape & Plymouth Media’s 40 Under 40 for 2023. Cape & Plymouth Media’s 40 Under 40 recognizes and honors the brightest young professionals in the area who are truly making a difference in their communities and workplaces.
Brian has been instrumental in fostering partnerships in the Plymouth area with local businesses and nonprofit organizations. A mainstay in Brian’s success in Plymouth County has been his constant presence volunteering or assisting during impactful local initiatives. Mr. McCowan continues to work with the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce connecting local business and volunteering with local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity of Plymouth, Plymouth Area Coalition, and the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth.
Mr. McCowan stated “It’s an honor to have been selected as one of the 40 Under 40 for the Cape and Plymouth region. The Plymouth community is very supportive of one another, and I feel it is very important that we continue to support our local businesses and partner with area non-profits.”
Brian joined the bank in 2012 and has served in the roles of Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and his most recent position of Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer. His previous experience includes Wolf & Company in Boston as an external auditor specializing in financial institutions.
Outside of work, Brian is active in the Plymouth Community as the Audit Committee Chair for the Plymouth Yacht Club, Advisory Board Chair of the Duxbury Chamber, serves as the Clerk for the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and a Board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth.
Brian lives in Kingston with his wife and three children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time out on the water. A graduate of Assumption College, Brian earned his MBA from Endicott College and has attended the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.
