NESB Donates PPE to Brockton Hospital, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, BIDH-Plymouth

North Easton Savings Bank recently donated 2,000 masks each to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth.  The masks, an integral part of the personal protection equipment (PPE) healthcare providers need to protect themselves as they care for others during this critical time in the COVID-19 crisis, were delivered to the facilities late last month.

The donations were coordinated by William Clay, president of Walker-Clay, Inc., a Hanson-based company that specializes in promotional products.  North Easton Savings Bank was one of 15 local banks and credit unions that partnered together in a program organized by Clay, which resulted in a total of 50,000 masks delivered the week of April 20 to various healthcare organizations.

North Easton Savings Bank designated their contributions to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, and BIDH-Plymouth.  Additionally, other organizations that received mask donations include Morton Hospital (Taunton), St. Anne’s Hospital (Fall River), South Shore Hospital (Weymouth), Charlton Memorial Hospital (Fall River), MelroseWakefield Hospital (Melrose), Winchester Hospital (Winchester), Brewster Ambulance Service, Southcoast Hospitals Group, and UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital (Leominster).  Some masks were also directed to police and fire departments as well as other nonprofit organizations in need.

“These masks are vital for our healthcare professionals, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this very worthy cause,” said Rich Spencer, chief executive officer at North Easton Savings Bank.  “As a community bank, the health and wellness of our community members means everything to us.  We are honored to make these contributions to our community healthcare organizations that so many of us rely on to stay well.

“We were thankful to have been able to participate in this worthy cause with Bill, and commend him for his idea and coordination,” Spencer added.
